Meet Tommy & Jamie
Hello—
Thank you for taking the time to get to know more about our family and our home life. We have two boys that we have previously adopted and are excited to add a third child again through adoption. We are committed to each other, our family, and strive to teach our boys about the Lord in all we do each and every day. Adoption has been such a gift to us and our family, and we are excited to be a part of another child’s adoption story.
About Us—
We love to have fun and play together as a family, no matter what we are doing. Tommy works for a construction company in project management, and enjoys building anything and everything. Tommy is honest, loyal, and hard-working. He loves fishing and hunting, especially with our boys. Jamie is fun-loving, joyful, loyal, and caring. She is blessed to be a stay-at-home mom and homeschool both the boys. She loves spending quality time with friends and family, playing games, and heading outside for adventures with the boys. As a family we enjoy camping, boating, riding dirt bikes with Jamie’s family, and swimming together in our neighborhood pool.
We met at church in 2010 and quickly realized we were a perfect fit for each other. We were married in 2013 and added our boys to our family in 2017 and 2019. One of the things we love most about marriage is being best friends and doing life together. Whether we are going on a date, being together as a family, or just hanging around the house, we enjoy quality time together. When challenges come our way, we don’t pull away from each other, but rather lean into each other. When needs arise we are good at communicating and talking things through to make sure we are aligned as a couple and a family unit.
Why Adoption—
Jamie was born with a heart condition that was corrected at a young age, however doctors advised against a pregnancy. Therefore, we knew we would not be able to have biological children. We love that the picture of adoption represents our adoption as sons and daughters in Christ. We were blessed to add to our family through adoption. In 2017 we welcomed Jeremiah into our home at 15 months old, and in 2019 we welcomed Isaiah at 6 weeks old. We don’t feel like our family is complete, and we are hopeful to welcome another child through adoption. Even our boys can’t wait to have a new little sibling.
We want each of our children to always know they are deeply loved by their birth mom and by us. We make it a priority to remind them of their story, where they came from, and how many people love them and want the very best for their lives.
Family, Community and Support System—
We have a large extended family and are incredibly close with all of them. Tommy’s brother lives just five minutes away, so we love getting together with him and his family often. Jamie’s three older brothers, along with both of our parents, live in California. Although they’re farther away, we talk regularly, take vacations together, and look forward to seeing them every Christmas and several other times throughout the year.
Our boys enjoy having 14 cousins to play with! They have always been supportive and excited to walk with us through all our adoption journeys. Jamie’s brother has welcomed two children into his home through adoption as well. We also have close friends near and far who have loved and supported us as we have grown our family through adoption. Jamie’s best friend has 4 adopted children of her own. We are thankful to have an amazing support system through our friends at church, who also have adopted children of their own.
About Our Home
We live in a home in a newer subdivision in a suburban part of town. One of the things we love most about our area is that there are so many places to explore, along with several clean and safe parks within five to ten minutes of our house. It makes it easy for our family to get outside, explore, and enjoy spontaneous park dates with nearby friends and family.
Because Tommy works from home, our mornings are usually spent together enjoying breakfast and Bible time as a family. On school days, we spend a few hours working on lessons before heading outside. We love taking our dog, Lexie, for walks and riding scooters or bikes around the neighborhood. The boys also enjoy visiting the nearby library, where they often check out books about outdoor adventures and survival skills.
One evening each week, we attend a Bible study while the boys participate in the children’s program. On weekends, we enjoy spending time with friends and staying actively involved in our church. Sundays are especially meaningful to us because we worship together as a family. Jamie serves in children’s ministry, Tommy serves with the high school group, and our boys look forward to seeing their friends in their church classes each week.
Summers are filled with weekend camping trips and a weeklong camping and boating vacation with Jamie’s family. In the spring and fall, we enjoy cheering on our boys as they participate in team sports. We also love getting away for dirt bike riding adventures with Jamie’s family. One of our favorite things is when our parents come to visit—we always look forward to spending that time together.
Our Faith & Faith Background
We both grew up in Christian homes and have continued that tradition with our own family. We rely heavily on our faith and teach our children each day about who God is and why it is important to honor Him in the way we live. We try to see every moment as an opportunity to point our children to the Lord and to model what it looks like to follow Him in our daily lives.
We make it a priority to attend Bible study, worship together as a family on Sundays, and serve in different ministries throughout the week. Jamie and the boys also enjoy being part of our church’s VBS every summer.
Jamie’s Words for Tommy
I love Tommy because he is honest and hard working. I know that I can count on him to provide and protect me and my children. He loves and cares for others deeply and is always willing to lend a helping hand. He is playful and enjoys having a good time, especially with his boys. It is clear that they want to be just like their dad in all that they do. When he makes decisions, he is thoughtful and strives to do what honors the Lord and what is the best for his family.
Tommy’s Words for Jamie
I love Jamie because she has a servant’s heart and humbly serves others. Jamie is loyal and self-sacrificing to the people she loves, which she shows with how she takes care of our family, and serves in our church faithfully. People that know Jamie well, absolutely adore her, and can’t help but love her. Jamie is an amazing mother to our two boys, and it is evident by the way they love and respect her.
Our Commitment—
Our goal is to honor both your child and you as their birth family by teaching them about where they came from and how God has written their story. We promise to always be open and honest with our children, answering their questions about their story to the best of our ability. As our boys have grown older, we have welcomed their questions about where they came from and consider it a privilege to share the stories God has written—and will continue to write—for their lives.
