Founded by Kate Wilson, The Heart Project grew alongside the work of Foster + Heart.

While Foster + Heart began by serving children in foster care, there was always a bigger vision in Kate’s heart — to create a matching agency that would walk alongside both expecting mothers and adoptive families with compassion, dignity, and intentional support.

The Heart Project is not the same as fostering to adopt. We are a dedicated adoption matching agency focused on connecting expecting mothers and families who feel called to adoption. Our role is to guide, support, and help create thoughtful adoption plans that honor everyone involved.

We believe in honoring birth mothers. Their voices matter. Their choices matter. Their stories matter. Adoption should never be rushed or pressured, and every decision should be made with clarity, care, and respect.

At Foster + Heart, we believe every child deserves a loving family. We also believe the financial barriers often tied to adoption can stand in the way of building that family. That’s why we created The Heart Project — to make adoption accessible and intentional, with minimal costs involved.

By partnering with our community, local supporters, and professionals who share our heart, we work to remove many of the high expenses typically associated with adoption. This allows families to focus on what truly matters: providing a safe, stable, and loving home for a child.
