Meet Ben & Christina
A Letter from Our Hearts—
Hello there! Thank you for taking the time to get to know our family. More than anything, we hope you feel seen, loved, and surrounded by peace as you consider what comes next for you and your little one. We may not know the experiences that have brought you to this moment, but we would be honored to hear your story.
Adoption has been close to our hearts from the beginning of our relationship and in 2020, we were blessed to adopt our son, who is now six. We have a beautiful, open relationship with his birth mother, and through our experience, we have come to deeply appreciate the love, complexity and many emotions that can be part of an adoption story.
Our hearts are open to welcoming another child into our family and loving them wholeheartedly. We are praying for you and your little one, and we hope that, whatever you decide, you feel supported, respected, and loved.
If our family becomes a part of your story, we would be honored to get to know you, walk alongside you, and welcome your child into our family.
About Us—
We met in high school and dated for three years before getting married in our small hometown. This year, we are celebrating fifteen years of marriage! We decided to get married young and have had the privilege of growing up together through the different seasons of life. We love being together and have learned how to lean on each other, use our strengths to complement one another, and make a really good team. Our faith is the foundation of our marriage, and we are grateful for the life God has given us and for the opportunity to grow together through both joyful and challenging seasons.
As a family, we are happiest when we are together and exploring somewhere new. You will often find us at the lake, hiking, camping, spending time in the mountains, or catching a sunset. We love good food, locally roasted coffee, and gathering around the table with friends and family.
Christina is more reserved but friendly—an “extroverted introvert” who loves a good book, trying new recipes, hosting, and creating a cozy space for the people she loves. She values deep, genuine relationships and loves finding little ways to stay connected with friends and family, especially through her annual Christmas cards.
Motherhood has held an unimaginable amount of joy and has intensified all of life’s big moments—the celebrations and the moments of grief. Motherhood has taught me so much about my limits and has brought me to my knees in prayer and surrender. Because I have not been able to conceive and carry a pregnancy, my experience of motherhood has come through the lens of adoption. The little boy I love as my own doesn’t look like me or share my DNA, but he holds every piece of heart.
Ben is adventurous and happiest outdoors. He enjoys biking, hiking, working out, and working on our cars, and he will almost always choose a dirt road if it might lead to a new camping spot. He loves a black cup of locally roasted coffee and a good breakfast burrito. As a first responder, he values being able to help people when they need it most.
Adoption has been woven into Ben's family story since he was ten years old. His oldest sister became pregnant during her senior year of high school and made an adoption plan for her baby boy. Ben's family supported his sister and walked alongside her during that time. When we started dating in high school, I asked Ben if he would ever consider adoption. He thoughtfully and honestly said that he had never considered it before, but that he was definitely open to it.
Our Family
Our son, Brayden is full of creativity and wonder. He is constantly building, designing, and problem solving with legos, blocks, magnetic tiles. He has found that cardboard boxes make the best rocket ships and the coffee table is the best stage for a musical performance. He loves keeping his hands busy and either listening to stories or music on his Yoto player. He is fearless on his bike. His favorite things involve riding on dirt trails with dad or helping dad wash the cars.
One of the things we are most grateful for is the life we have built together. We have been through hard seasons and celebrated some incredible ones, and each has strengthened our friendship and our commitment to one another. We love our family, our friends, and the simple everyday moments that make a house feel like home. As we look toward growing our family through adoption, we are excited about sharing that life with another child—taking them on adventures, gathering around the table, making memories, and giving them a home filled with love, laughter, faith, and belonging.
Ben’s Words to Christina
Christina is one of the most sincere and genuine people I know. She cares deeply about her family and close friends and is intentional about the relationships in her life. I love how organized she is and how she adds thoughtful details into everything she does. She also has a love for experiencing new places and cultures that I really admire. Christina is my rock and keeps me grounded, and I truly cannot imagine my life without her. One of my favorite things is watching her be a mom. She loves deeply, creates a home where everyone feels welcome, and brings so much thoughtfulness and care to our family. I feel incredibly grateful that I get to do life with her.
Christina’s Words to Ben
Ben is an amazing father, and I love watching him be a dad. He is intentional with Brayden, patient and calm, and loves wholeheartedly. He has a kind heart and genuinely cares about the people around him. I fell in love with his smile and laugh pretty much from the beginning, and fifteen years later, he is still my favorite person. I love the way he shows up for our family and the way he makes even ordinary days fun. I feel so lucky that I get to share this life with him.
Our Faith & Values
Our faith is at the center of who we are and the foundation of our marriage and family. We are Christians and love the Lord, and our faith shapes the way we try to live each day—with humility, grace, honesty, forgiveness, and a willingness to serve others. We don’t have everything figured out, but we have found that our faith gives us a steady foundation through both the joyful and difficult seasons of life. We hope to model for our children what it looks like to love God and love others well, not just through what we teach them, but through the way we live.
As parents, we want our children to grow up knowing they are deeply loved by God and by their family. We hope to introduce them to faith through prayer, Scripture, church, and the everyday example of a life centered on Christ. We recognize that adoption begins with a child’s own story, and we want to approach that story with respect, honesty, and grace. Our hope is to create a home where our children feel safe asking questions, sharing their thoughts, and growing in their faith.
Family, Community & Support—
We are incredibly grateful for the family and friends who surround us and love our family so well.
Christina’s parents have been married for more than 30 years, and she has three younger siblings. Her parents and sister live nearby, while her brothers live in Texas. Growing up in a Midwestern family, Christina learned to treasure shared meals around the table, honest conversations about faith, and plenty of laughter over a board game.
Ben’s parents have been married for more than 50 years, and he has three older sisters who are all married with children, giving us several nieces and nephews. We love when our whole family can be together, and some of our favorite memories are simply gathering, sharing a meal, and celebrating life together. Our parents have modeled the kind of faithful, lasting relationships we hope to pass on.
Beyond our families, we have close friends who have loved and supported us through every season of life. We are also part of a church community and an adoption support group that have surrounded us with encouragement, prayer, and understanding.
Our Daily Life
We live in Idaho and love our three bedroom, two bath, single story home. It sits on the edge of a cul-de-sac in a relatively quiet neighborhood. The backyard is comfortable for enjoying fire pits in the fall or corn hole in the summer. We are about fifteen minutes from the airport, downtown, and grandparents! We have parks nearby, a library just down the street, and a beautiful mix of city and rural spaces. We can be in the mountains or desert enjoying an adventure without going far from home. We love the slower pace of our neighborhood and the simple rhythm of everyday family life.
The weekday mornings are typically slow. Ben has recently made detective, and thankfully is now working a day shift schedule, but he is up and out the door before Brayden and I wake up. This year, we are homeschooling Brayden through a co-op, and we are enjoying the flexibility to learn, explore, and spend more time together. Now that we have entered the school year, Brayden and I try to either take Maverick (our yellow lab) for a walk while the temperature is nice or go outside in the background to play before jumping into schoolwork.
We love the changing seasons, but fall is our favorite. There is something special about the crisp air, our anniversary just around the corner, and knowing the holidays are coming. We look forward to traditions that bring our family together, like opening stockings on Christmas morning, gathering around the fire with a glass of eggnog, working on a Christmas puzzle, or driving around to see the lights.
More than anything, we want our home to feel warm, safe, and inviting—a place where our children know they are loved and always have a place to belong.
Our Commitment—
We want you to know that our hearts are open to loving your child wholeheartedly and welcoming them into our family with joy, faith, and unconditional love. We also want to honor you and the love you have for your child. We understand that considering adoption is a deeply personal journey, and we will never take your trust lightly.
Our hope is to walk alongside you with honesty, respect, and compassion. We will pray for you, your little one, and the path ahead, trusting God with each step. Whatever this journey holds, we hope you know that you are loved, valued, and worthy of being heard.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family and our hearts. If our family becomes a part of you story, it would be an incredible honor to get to know you and to love and care for your child throughout their life.
